Very Practical Approach to Reaching Personal Financial Freedom

Desphande brings a absolute "matter of fact", "keeping it real" approach to personal finance. Fuel is entertaining, engaging, and educational all at the same time. A must read for young and aging adults with hopes of breaking free from the financial ball and chain called consumer debt and liability. I purchased the book after attending the personal finance course that Desphande teaches. I am excited about building my financial Fuel. This book motivates me to be more responsible about my spending and saving.

Love this book!

I love this book! It is very refreshing to see financial management explained in such a straightforward, uncomplicated manner. Through his book, Alok demonstrates that discipline, persistence, and common sense are key to successful financial management; it really doesn't have to be that complicated! The layout of the book makes it a quick read, but each point and financial concept is thoroughly explained.

The case study in the book provides a great picture of the realities and struggles of budgeting. Alok understands that financial struggles and obstacles are real; he does not provide a 'roses and sunshine' view of financial success, because he knows that real life does not necessarily work that way for everyone. However, he adds in just enough humor at the right places to make the book feel lighthearted. I even laughed out loud while I was reading!

With this book, Alok has done an excellent job of taking the guesswork out of financial management and budgeting. I highly recommend this book to anyone, of any age, who wants to improve their financial picture and strengthen their budgeting skills.

There are numerous personal finance books out there but Fuel is one of the best ones I have read! Far too many of these types of books use fancy jargon that can be difficult to understand and act on. Alok does a great job giving an easy-to-follow plan that will help others have financial success. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to gain control of their life.

Declan on yeah. He definitely wanted his mate Rachel but she kept fighting it. Until an attack on her best friend Chloe, with that Rachel had to accept everything. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I love Aline Hunters books, she rocks. She says you can read this book as a stand alone but in my thinking it is so much better to read Marked first and then Changed. That will let you understand everything that is going on.

Sexy Series.

Quick and enjoyable but nothing really happens in this series. If you enjoyed book 1 then you will enjoy book 2. Declan was very patient and sweet with Rachel and as usual the sex was hot. I'm looking forward to Shane's story.

I enjoy a good paranormal and this one didn't disappoint, it has a unique angle on wolves and mating and a mystery to keep you intrigued. I thought the characters were great Declan super sexy and Rachel is perfect for him, Declan is sweet and loving when he's with Rachel which I love. Rachel is my fav though she's tough as nails, no nonsense rough chick who just wants to be loved. I love these two characters together but like anything nothing is easy...Rachel is human and Declan isn't but the unimaginable happens and Rachel is lost in how to deal with her new life. Love the pack members especially Chloe and Jackson. Thought the story was very interesting kept me reading. Would love to read more total cliffhanger but I loved it.. ...4 stars

The midlife crisis is familiar enough, but as in previous works, Hollis (The Middle Passage: From Misery to Meaning at Midlife), brings a Jungian perspective to it that goes deeper than the idea of finding mere self-fulfillment. Delve deeper, expect more from yourself, grow up!

Wonderful book. Definitely not your typical self help book. Based on Jungian psychology, this book has given me much to reflect upon and goals to strive for outside of the usual "get happy" blather that's out there. If you want to understand more about yourself, your partner and others with whom you have close relationships this is a great book to read. Here are a couple quotes to help you decide if this book might be up your alley:

P 117: "...the best thing we can do for ourselves and for the other is to assume more of the developmental agenda for ourselves. In other words, to have a grown-up relationship, we have to grow up!...When we are sincerely able to ask the question "What am I asking of my beloved that I need to do for myself?" we have not only begun growing up, but may then be expressing a loving attitude toward that other after all."

My oldest child moved out last summer. That same week my father-in-law and beloved dog passed away. My middle child will be moving out this summer and my youngest will be off to college. Needless to say, my soul has been in pain. But thanks to this book, I have a few new tools in my tool box.

It's like he opened my head, crawled inside, and put words to the thoughts and feelings I have had my whole life. I thought I was the only one thinking these things and feeling this way. Why had I never heard of this guy?! Highly recommend to any person, any age who wants to understand himself in a more profound, edifying way. I gave a copy to my 23 year old son. It IS heady and I have to reread some sentences a few times, but I've underlined just about every sentence in the book and that's saying something!! This book is for any person, any age who wants to "get it".

One of the best Jazz theory books I've ever read.

This book is phenomenal. I'm a professional musician and composer with a classical background and I love getting theory books to get new ideas and understand non-classical methods of thinking. I can honestly say that this book is one of the best I've ever found. Because it was written by both a jazz musician and classical musician, ideas are explained in ways that are very easy for me to relate to, but the book also reveals jazz concepts I was unfamiliar with. I have learned a ton from this book and it is a permanent and welcome addition to my library.

It is well written, easy to understand, flows well, and is organized very clearly. I have to say, I wish I had gotten this instead of getting Levine's book years ago. I'm still glad I have Levine's book, but I find this to be a great counterweight to it.

My only issue is that there are several typos I discovered within the first minutes of reading through it. Some chords are mislabeled, Usually when this happens it is pretty obvious so no harm no foul, but it is the only hangup in an otherwise outstanding text. Highly recommended.

Do you like Jazz? Well you've come to the right place. This book is one of the jazziest jazz books to ever jazz. So jazzy, that when I opened it up, I immediately grew a soul patch, sunglasses fell on my face, and I started to use terms like, "hip" and, "vibe". 10/10 would jazz again.
